Synopis
The lesson plan isn't much help to Edgar, a grade school teacher, when things start dying in his classroom. As the death toll rises, from herb gardens to salamanders, the young students look to their teacher for guidance. They want big answers for their big questions. Unsatisfied, the precocious students call for a life-affirming act, something outrageous to make them forget their troubles. They nearly get it when hope is restored, or at least distraction is provided, in this absurdist tale of life, death, and pedagogy.
